Ellen DeGeneres? Oscars Trailer ?Here We Go? and Behind-the-Scenes Video
Oscars host Ellen DeGeneres appears in a dazzling song-and-dance trailer directed by Paul Feig with hundreds of dancers in tuxedos. It’s our first glimpse of the returning host and of what may be in store for the 86th Awards. The host herself is decked out in a tuxedo lip synching to Fitz & The Tantrums’ song ‘The Walker.’ It’s performed in long takes as a hand-held camera follows her along as more and more dancers — both men and women all clad in identical tuxedos — join in. According to the synopsis, there are 250 dancers in total. As noted, the director was Paul Feig, the acclaimed director of ‘Bridesmaids.’ ‘Freaks and Geeks,’ and most recently ‘The Heat.’ Along with the trailer itself, the Academy also released a behind-the-scenes video on the making of the elaborate trailer. The trailer is noteworthy for drawing attention to the craft of filmmaking. The viewer sees, via the behind-the-scenes featurettes, how much goes into creating a single minute of screen time.
